Humans are helpless and weak, which has made them prune to diseases. Since human creation, they are subjected to the trails of Allah Almighty to test their patience and verily Allah embarks hardships upon His best people as stated in Hadith:
"If God wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials." [Bukhari]
Allah will test His people through different situations to know who are the true Muslim to seek help from Him and who the arrogant ones are. Indeed Allah likes those who invoked Him in troubles and answered the supplications of the needy and oppressed ones. The glorious book of Rahman narrates:
“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.” [2:155]
Cure of Ailments through Quran
Humans succumb easily to the worldly diseases and spiritual sufferings like lack of heart contentment and anxiety. The mere solution that religion Islam highly recommends is to ask continuously from Allah Almighty through making Dua from divine scriptures. In Quran Allah says:
“Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." [13:28]
Yet again, the words of Quran are the source of mercy and healing for the human diseases as stated:
“And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.” [17:82]
Supplication for any illness
When Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was ill, he used to recite the four Quls, blow on his hands and pass them over on the back and front. He also recited these Surahs, blew on his hands, and passed them over his body during his fatal illness." [Bukhari, Muslim]
At another place in Hadith Hazrat Ayesha (RA) stated that:
“When there was any problem Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to rub the area of the pain reciting the following supplication:
"O Lord of the people, remove this pain and cure it, You are the one who cures and there is no one besides You who can cure, grant such a cure that no illness remains.” [Bukhari]
Healing through Ruqyah
Ruqyah is Arabic word for “treatment with Quran verses and descended supplications.” Ruqyah is solution for all problems almost as stated at different places in book of Hadith as:
Ruqyah for evil eye:
Hazrat Asma (RA) said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! The children of Ja’far have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall I recite Ruqyah for them?’ He said: ‘Yes, for if anything were to overtake the Divine decree it would be the evil eye.’” [Sunan Ibn E Majah]
Ruqyah for snakebites:
It was narrated that Hazrat Aisha (RA) said: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) allowed Ruqyah for snakebites and scorpion stings.” [Sunan Ibn E Majah]
Ruqyah for sufferings:
Once the angel Jibril (AS) came to the Prophet and said: "O Muhammad! Are you suffering?" He said: "Yes." He said: "In the Name of Allah, I recite a prayer (Ruqyah) over you, from the evil of every person and evil eye. In the Name of Allah I recite a prayer (Ruqyah) over you, may Allah cure you." [Tirmidhi]
Ruqyah for warding off harms
Abdul Aziz Bin Sohaib narrated that Thabit Al-Bunani and I entered upon Anas bin Malik, and Thabit said: 'O Abu Hamzah! I am suffering from an illness. So Anas said: 'Shall I not recite the Ruqyah of the Messenger of Allah over you?' He said: 'Why, yes.' He said: 'O Allah! Lord of mankind, removed the harm, and cure (him). Indeed You are the One Who cures, there is none who cures except you, a cure that leaves no disease.'" [Tirmidhi]
Concluding, supplication is the essence of worship and the listed Duaas in Quran and Hadith for the treatment of various diseases bear significant power to mend worries and alleviating despairs.
